Here's the latest. Steven called last night to check in, so to speak. He sounds good with the exception of being in a little pain. He had 2 wisdom teeth pulled on Sat. We have known for many years now that they were going to have to go, but we had not had the money to have them removed. Dental insurance, as many of you know, doesn't cover very much. Anyway, now it has been done and the Government can take care of the expense.
The only pain med he is on is motrin, so I imagine he is hurting more than he is letting on. The biggest problem with having any type of procedure while in Basic is that if you miss too many days of training you will be recycled. That means his graduation would be postponed. I don't think that he is at that point yet, but he won't be able to afford any sick days. He did say that his training in the gas chamber was going to be delayed, he won't be able to go with the rest of his troop because he can't go in with open sores in his mouth. He will go with another troop for that day, one that is just a few days behind his own in their training.
Besides the phone call last night we also received 3 letters on Sat. One was just for Patrick and the other two were for myself and Jimmy. His letters are short but I love getting them. Well, I guess that's all for this post.

Ouch! Having teeth out and having to work hard is tough. Hope he gets to feeling better quick. Hope he got my letter, too. Sure do miss him.
